About the Editor.
Kara Baird
(Care-uh Bear-d)
I grew up in the utterly hot and overwhelmingly Tex-Mex city of San Antonio, TX. After my high school escapades in soccer, cross-country running, theater, ASL, peer-mentoring, and every extra-curricular known to man, I decided to move to Utah to go to school at Brigham Young University and switch my field of study about six times.
The abundance of activities I was involved in coupled with a love for reading and learning lead me to the English major and editing minor. I figured if I couldn't decide what to do, I could at least read about everything I was interested in. I learned about literature, publishing, and editing, among other things. I was surrounded by amazing peers, professors, and professionals and ate up the opportunities available to me there.
I also met my husband while getting my undergrad. Now, he is currently in medical school—so from Utah, we moved to a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Here I am currently working on freelance editing, writing a novel, learning how to knit, pinteresting what meals I want to make next, and fostering an obsession for the show Gilmore Girls.
Also, I live in a 102-year-old house with floral wallpaper, pink carpet, and a very creepy attic.
I love:
-Reading
-T.V. (especially Chuck, Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, & Chopped)
-Soccer
-Running
-Ultimate Frisbee
-Young Adult Fiction
-My Chacos
-Kayaking
-Hiking
-Hipster/granola health-food stores that sell bulk food and have juice bars
