About.
I love things that *sparkle*.
Stars.
Fireworks.
Glitter.
My sweat after a good workout.
The sun-set on a lake.
Delicious food.
Well-written words. . .
Ah, now we're talking.
I read about 100 books a year (not including manuscripts I edit), and I especially love it when all 100 of those books are worth reading. Most of the time, that doesn't happen. My job is to make sure your piece skips the stage of mediocrity altogether. I want your work to *sparkle* when you let it out into the world. I want it not only to be clean, but also to attract attention.
I was trained in English literature and editing at Brigham Young University, mainly focusing on YA literature. There I made writing, editing, and books a permanent part of my life. I've worked with self-published novelists, scholarly journals, science fiction, contemporary fiction, young adult short-stories, medical school applications, resume content, family history, memoirs, textbooks, technical reports, and so on.
It's impossible to become an expert on every topic I read about, but I try to get as close as I can without switching careers. Why do so much research? So I can best help the project I'm buffing the scratches out of. After a session at *Sparkle*, your work will be ready to paint the town red in a mink coat and six-inch high heels. In other words, your writing will be fabulous.
